These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to your use of the Renew Tech Recycling (Pty) Ltd website and to requests, estimates, collections and transactions initiated through the website, WhatsApp, telephone, email or another approved Renew Tech channel. By using the website or submitting a request, you agree to these Terms. If a provision of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory right or obligation under South African law, the applicable law will prevail.

1. Business information
The website is operated by Renew Tech Recycling (Pty) Ltd, company registration number 2026/574338/07, with its stated business premises at 58 Simmentaler Street, Mokopane Industrial, Mokopane, Limpopo, 0610, South Africa. Contact details are renewtechrecycling@gmail.com and 062 032 3627. Renew Tech buys selected electronic materials and related items subject to inspection, grading, legal requirements, operational capacity and these Terms.
2. Scope of the website
The website provides information about materials Renew Tech may consider buying and allows users to submit estimate requests, pickup requests, contact enquiries and, where requested by Renew Tech, seller-verification information. Website content is general information and does not constitute financial, legal, environmental or technical advice.
3. No automatic offer or acceptance
A website submission, automated acknowledgement, reference number, estimated value, provisional acceptance, pickup request or communication from Renew Tech does not by itself create a binding agreement to purchase goods. A transaction is only concluded when Renew Tech has completed the required checks, physically inspected and graded the goods where applicable, confirmed the final transaction terms and accepted the goods in accordance with applicable law.
4. Estimates, grading and final value
Online estimates and category descriptions are indicative only. Electronic material can vary materially by type, composition, age, condition, contamination, completeness, stripping, recoverable content and market conditions. Renew Tech may revise or withdraw an estimate after inspection or when the information supplied by the seller differs from the actual goods.
- Final classification and grade are determined by Renew Tech after inspection.
- Final payable weight or quantity is based on the measurement accepted for the transaction.
- Prices may change with market conditions, downstream rates, transport cost, handling cost, risk and item quality.
- Renew Tech is not required to disclose confidential internal grades, margins, downstream buyers, resale rates or commercial methodology.
5. Seller eligibility and authority
You may only offer goods that you lawfully own or are properly authorised to sell. You must provide accurate information and must not impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority. Renew Tech will not knowingly acquire second-hand goods from a person under 18 years of age.
A business representative may be required to provide proof of authority, business registration details, proof of address, identification or other supporting documents before Renew Tech proceeds.
6. Prohibited, suspicious or non-qualifying goods
Renew Tech may refuse, quarantine, suspend, cancel or report a transaction where:
- ownership or authority cannot reasonably be established;
- goods appear stolen, unlawfully obtained, tampered with or deliberately altered to conceal identity;
- serial numbers, identifying marks or other evidence appear unlawfully removed or altered;
- the goods create an unacceptable safety, environmental, transport or legal risk;
- the item is outside Renew Tech's accepted material scope;
- the information supplied is materially false, incomplete or misleading; or
- the transaction would breach any applicable law, permit, licence, registration, reporting or recordkeeping requirement.
7. Second-Hand Goods Act and regulatory status
Certain transactions may be regulated by the Second-Hand Goods Act 6 of 2009, its regulations and related requirements. Where the law applies, Renew Tech may need to verify identity and authority, record prescribed seller and goods information, retain records, comply with reporting obligations, observe applicable holding or processing restrictions and make information available to lawful authorities where required.
Renew Tech's Second-Hand Goods registration process is in progress. The relevant certificate has not yet been issued. Renew Tech will not represent itself on this website as holding a Second-Hand Goods dealer or recycler registration certificate unless and until that registration has actually been issued and verified. If a proposed transaction legally requires a registration, certificate, permit or other approval that Renew Tech does not yet hold, Renew Tech may postpone, decline or otherwise refrain from completing that transaction until it can lawfully proceed.
8. Seller verification
Renew Tech may require seller verification before confirming a collection or completing a transaction. Verification can include identity documents, proof of address, business details, representative identification and proof of authority. Verification is an anti-fraud and compliance control and does not guarantee that Renew Tech will purchase the goods.
Verification links are personal to the relevant transaction, may expire or be revoked, and must not be shared with unauthorised persons. Renew Tech may request further information if submitted documents are incomplete, unclear, inconsistent or insufficient.
9. Pickup and collection requests
A pickup request is a request for Renew Tech to consider collection; it is not a confirmed booking. Renew Tech considers item type, estimated quantity or weight, route, location, transport cost, loading requirements, safety, evidence quality and availability before confirming a collection.
- A minimum of 50 kg applies outside Mokopane.
- Collection may be free or charged depending on the products and collection requirements. Renew Tech will communicate any applicable charge in advance.
- Any collection charge will be communicated before a collection is confirmed.
- A requested collection date is a preference unless Renew Tech expressly confirms it.
- The seller must ensure safe and lawful access to the collection point.
10. Collection safety and access
The seller must disclose access restrictions, loading conditions and known hazards. Renew Tech may refuse to enter a site or load goods where conditions are unsafe, unlawful or materially different from what was disclosed. The seller remains responsible for obtaining any site permissions required for collection.
11. Inspection, condition and discrepancies
Renew Tech may open, inspect, sort, weigh, count or grade goods to determine their actual category and value once the goods are lawfully presented for assessment. If the goods materially differ from photographs, descriptions, stated weight or other information supplied, Renew Tech may amend the offer or decline the goods.
12. Pricing and payment
Final payment is based on the agreed final grade, accepted weight or quantity and the final buying rate confirmed for the transaction. EFT or cash after final inspection and confirmed weight. No website estimate should be treated as a guaranteed payment amount.
Where law prescribes a particular payment method for a regulated class of transaction, the legally required method will apply. Renew Tech may delay payment where reasonably necessary to complete fraud, ownership, identity, banking or legal-compliance checks.
13. Cancellation and refusal
A seller may withdraw a request before a transaction has been completed, subject to any lawful costs or commitments that were separately disclosed and agreed. Renew Tech may cancel or decline a request before completion where operational, commercial, safety, fraud-prevention or legal-compliance considerations make the transaction unsuitable.
14. Request references and tracking
References are issued to help identify a request. You should keep your reference confidential and use the same cellphone number supplied with the request when using the public tracking function. The tracking page intentionally provides only limited customer-safe information and does not expose internal notes, commercial information, identity documents or staff-only evidence.
15. Information and photographs supplied by users
You remain responsible for information, photographs and documents you submit. By submitting material, you confirm that you are entitled to provide it and grant Renew Tech permission to use it only as reasonably necessary to assess, administer, verify, document and complete the relevant request or transaction, comply with law, prevent fraud and resolve disputes.
Do not upload unlawful content, malicious files, unrelated personal information or documents belonging to another person unless you have lawful authority to provide them.
16. Personal information and privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with the Renew Tech Privacy Notice and applicable South African law, including POPIA. The Privacy Notice explains what information is collected, the purposes of processing, seller verification, retention, security, cross-border processing and data-subject rights.
17. Electronic communications
You consent to receive communications reasonably connected to a request or transaction through the contact method you select or otherwise use with Renew Tech, including WhatsApp, telephone and email. Electronic communications may be retained as transaction or service records where lawfully required or reasonably necessary.
A message sent to Renew Tech is not deemed finally accepted merely because it was transmitted electronically. Where a communication requires operational acceptance, the relevant request is considered accepted only when Renew Tech expressly confirms it or performs the relevant accepted action.
18. Acceptable website use
You may not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, accounts, staff areas, data or systems;
- interfere with security, availability, rate controls, authentication or request tracking;
- submit malware, automated abuse, spam, fraudulent requests or intentionally false records;
- scrape or extract protected personal or confidential business information; or
- use the website in a way that is unlawful or infringes another person's rights.
19. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the website design, text, branding, logos, graphics, software, structure and original content are owned by or licensed to Renew Tech. You may use the website for normal personal or business interaction with Renew Tech, but may not copy, reproduce, republish, commercially exploit or misrepresent protected material without permission or another lawful basis.
20. Third-party services and links
The website may link to or use third-party services such as WhatsApp, maps, cloud hosting, file storage or authentication providers. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy arrangements. Renew Tech is not responsible for third-party systems outside its reasonable control, but this does not reduce any responsibility Renew Tech has under applicable law for its own processing or conduct.
21. Website availability and accuracy
Renew Tech takes reasonable steps to keep the website functional and information accurate, but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation or that all information will remain current at all times. Website maintenance, internet failures, provider outages, security events or circumstances beyond reasonable control may affect access.
22. Liability and statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes, limits or waives a right, remedy, warranty or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Subject to those mandatory rights, Renew Tech is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from reliance on a non-binding website estimate, an unconfirmed collection request, third-party service interruption or unauthorised misuse of a user's reference or account details.
Any limitation of liability in these Terms must be interpreted fairly and only to the extent permitted by applicable law. These Terms are not intended to create an unfair, unreasonable or unjust waiver of statutory consumer rights.
23. Indemnity for unlawful conduct
To the extent permitted by law, a person who knowingly supplies stolen goods, fraudulent documents, materially false ownership information or other unlawful material may be responsible for losses directly caused to Renew Tech by that unlawful conduct. This clause does not require a consumer to waive rights or assume liabilities that may not lawfully be imposed.
24. Complaints and disputes
If you have a complaint about an estimate, collection, payment, privacy issue or website interaction, contact Renew Tech first using the details below so the matter can be investigated. Nothing in these Terms prevents a person from using a regulator, ombud, court or other dispute-resolution mechanism available under applicable law.
25. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be dealt with by a court or other forum that has lawful jurisdiction, subject to any statutory consumer or other rights concerning jurisdiction or dispute resolution.
26. Changes to these Terms
Renew Tech may update these Terms when its services, website, legal obligations or operating processes change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Changes will apply prospectively unless the law permits or requires otherwise.
27. Severability and no waiver
If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure by Renew Tech to enforce a provision on one occasion does not amount to a permanent waiver of that provision.
28. Order of documents
These Terms should be read with the Privacy Notice and any specific written quotation, collection confirmation, transaction record or other terms expressly agreed for a particular transaction. Where a specific written transaction term conflicts with these general Terms, the specific agreed term will apply to that transaction, subject always to mandatory law.
